Surya Mani Tripathi, PhD, LLB, RTTP
Dr. Surya Mani Tripathi is the Legal Counsel at ICRISAT, an International Organization headquartered in Hyderabad, India. He is an international lawyer and registered Indian attorney. He was instrumental in establishment and sustainable operations of Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC) and WIPO’s Technology Innovation Support Center (TISC) at ICRISAT. As a techno-legal expert and solicitor he is facilitating transfer of technologies and IPR commercialization mainly in agriculture and allied domain. He has extensively worked in the domain of public-private partnerships and IPRs generated at public sector institutions.
Dr. Tripathi has been awarded law degree (LL.B.) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur with Microsoft IPR scholarship award. He also holds Ph.D. degree in plant science with CSIR fellowship and International Masters with fellowship of UNIDO and Government of Italy. He is recipient of Associate Fellowship -CISDL, Canada and Scroll of Honor by International Council of Jurists.
