Dr. Kalpana Sastry

Dr. Sastry has more than 23 years of experience in the areas of Technology assessment, IP and Technology Transfer. In 1996, she joined the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad as Senior Scientist and is currently working as Head of the Agricultural Research Systems Management and Policies Division (ARSMP). She had initiated innovative approaches for new training programs that cover science, law and regulation; managing research partnerships in consortia in all sectors across the agricultural supply chain and rural livelihood systems. Dr. Sastry is the course director of the PG Diploma in Intellectual Property and Technology Management in Agriculture (IPTMA) and faculty for middle and senior level management programs like Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) and others. She is a member of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) team responsible for actualization of IP & Tech commercialization policy of ICAR. She has authored more than 90 publications in international and national journal.
